Apparently, creativity is measurable in the brain. Researchers have figured out that creativity often starts with prolonged activation of the default mode network &#8211; the system responsible for you daydreaming. It is then followed up by the executive control network &#8211; responsible for your inner critic, the system that lets you zoom in on the important stuff. Creativity is quite literally an ebb and flow.
